Tara and I are from the same town and graduated High School together. We went to the same church and youth group and back in the day, we were apart of the same group of friends.
She always seemed SO strong. Not just physically (I would never ever go up against her in soccer…she will beat you…trust me!), but in her faith, with who she was as a person, how she handled life and people. I just was in awe of her! She’s always been a beautiful person both inside and out.
I have always believed people are put in your life for a reason. When I was new to having a faith, Tara got me my first prayer journal. FUN FACT- I still have that journal! This one act of kindness forever changed my faith and my walk with God, for the better. I’ll always remember that!
Fast forward a few years (more like over 10 years) and Tara reached out to me for photo session. Her idea was a twist of boudoir and portraits. And involved horses! She explained a little of what she’d been going through in life and how she needed something just for herself. To remind herself she was strong, she was beautiful and she was still her wild at heart, carefree self.
She made the trip, we caught up. We cried, we laughed, we went spelunking and we had one of my favorite sessions to date. This whole session reminds me of this quote:
“If you find a woman with a wild heart, do not try to tame her. You must adore her recklessly, the way she is meant to be loved. Do not try to quiet her, for her roars will reach far and wide. She has something important to say, Help her say it. Do not get in her way. She stops for no one. Do not try to change the path she has chosen. Learn also to love the wind and let it change you.” <3
